This week we have had a near full venue. What a privilege it is to serve our beautiful clients through our conference ministry! In the last year we have seen many companies go through challenging times, having to make tough decisions to cut costs. One cost cutting measure has been to cut catering for their attendees – it’s hard for a Greek not to feed guests! This week it was the case with one event and an attendee ‘vented’ their frustration to me. They were lovely but I felt so sad that they did not feel valued by their organisation. How the little things matter…
It made me think, where do we get our value from? When our value lies in a job, a position title, a large bank balance, owning nice ‘stuff’, having the so called perfect family or things along these lines, it will always fall short.
Even at conference we receive amazing feedback from our clients such as: “Thank you for your note; however the thanks should go to you and your team. Thank you so much for all of your help, everything went so smoothly and you are so easy to deal with – nothing is ever a problem!” BUT our value does not lie in the praise of others but in WHY we do what we do: Our true purpose and how God values us.
“So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:31
We may be facing challenges at home, friends that may let us down, or even workplaces that make us feel unappreciated by not providing food, but know that no matter what is happening this does not change your value and that you are a true masterpiece of God with an amazing Eternal purpose. You are loved!!
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10
