Thought of the Week

Ephesians 4:16 says, “[Christ] makes the whole body grow and build itself up in love. Under the control of Christ, each part of the body does its work. It supports the other parts. In that way, the body is joined and held together.”

In these words, we find Paul casting vision through analogy; comparing the way the body works to the way Jesus’ followers should work together. When we work as the body of believers; we serve, give, love, and see the needs of others.

When we believe in the story of Jesus, life is no longer merely about us as individuals. Our attention shifts outwards and we begin to focus in on working with and supporting one another towards pointing others to Christ through our actions.

Together we can do what we can never do alone.
