Thought of the Week

Hope is a word we use a lot in our every day conversations. “I hope you have a great day”, “I hope you’re feeling better”, “I hope your meeting with your boss goes well”.

We can hope for anything, whether small or large, but hope that God offers is a true, life-giving hope that can bring light into the darkest of circumstances. As human beings we can be limited in what we can see in our situation and sometimes can be fumbling around in the dark longing for a glimpse of hope.

Northside Kids this month are discovering HOPE: believing that something good can come out of something bad. In the lead up to Easter we’re learning that even in the darkness God is in control, how God loves us and how in the darkness he is powerful enough to bring something good out of something bad. We don’t know how our story unfolds, but thankfully we have a victorious God who assures us “In this world you will have trouble. But be encouraged! I have won the battle over the world.” John 17:33b
