One of my favourite holidays was a grand adventure we took with friends in Europe.
The ultimate joy was winding down to the pebbly beach in Positano, and then floating on an inflatable mattress out into the crystal clear blue Mediterranean. How I could I pause time and forever exist within that place?
Yet, as was inevitable, soon it was time to float back in. Then a few days later I would leave. And a few years later, I would just have the precious memory of that holiday.
And doesn’t this happen with other aspects of our lives? Jobs run their course. Lovers grow old. Children move out and start their own lives.
‘Your place’ is not simply a destination – It is a lifelong adventure. So how will you make the most of it? Take comfort in Jeremiah 29:11 today:– “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”
