Thought of the Week

Binoculars were designed to be able to magnify. Imagine then when used in reverse, everything becomes miniscule or insignificant. What we bring into largeness stays large – the rest is peripheral.

John 3:30 says, “He must become greater and I must become less”. We want our lives to honour Him, to be like Christ. To do so means taking the focus off ourselves and realigning it on Him. We are to make God large in our lives by declaring His greatness and worshipping Him.

The words of this beautiful song puts it this way: “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.”

When we magnify His name we use our spiritual binoculars correctly. We reorient what needs magnification in our lives. What are you magnifying currently and how can you adjust your focus toward Him this week?
