A lovely coastal walk along a Port Macquarie beach last week saw us watching a gorgeous sea eagle waft effortlessly upon the rising air currents blowing in off the ocean.Yet in that effortlessness was incredible discipline and finesse. Every wingtip remained steady when needed, or adjusted slightly to account for the constant changes in wind pressure. It was a timely reminder that biblical freedom is not an absence of restrictions, but finding the context you were built for and remaining disciplined to the laws and natures of that context.
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
Are you living in the context for which you were built? Are you working on your disciplines toward effortlessness?
