On a recent beach holiday a beautiful scene stopped me. I saw a father holding hands with his little girl as they stared out into the rumbling waves while the dawn sky broke around them.
I was struck by the father’s desire to protect his little girl in contrast to the powerful sea and the vastness of the sky that stretched beyond his control. It reminded me of Psalm 33. It describes the futile attempts of man to control his world in contrast to the all powerful, unfailing power and majesty of our Heavenly Father – “The LORD merely spoke, and the heavens were created… He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs.” (Psalms 33:6-8 NLT).
This Easter, I hope you may experience that same moment of awe that I did. That you may surrender to the reality that there is a God in heaven who loves you, who longs for a relationship with you… and has plans for you – so much greater than you can ever imagine. Will you put your hope in Him this Easter?
