Adults who have children in their lives are very blessed at Christmas time. It’s a great source of joy to see the way kids throw themselves into the celebration with seemingly uninhibited enthusiasm – full of anticipation!
I believe their natural response to this season holds an important lesson for us all: If we want to get “something” out of Christmas, we must put something into it – and that “something” (among other things), is expectation! I’m not
suggesting we develop unrealistic or childish expectations, but I am urging us to think more about the unique opportunities this season affords for growth in our faith journey.
In a spiritual sense, what are you hoping to give….what are you hoping to receive this Christmas?
