Thought of the Week

When I was younger, I knew I was creative, but I’d become frustrated that I wasn’t creative in the ways I wanted. I’d see canvas and paint, and become excited by the possibilities. But anything that came from my brush didn’t look quite right.

I bet some of you feel the same way. You may hate being on stage, maybe you can’t play an instrument, you may have no rhythm or maybe your art leaves something to be desired.

For whatever reason society has taught us to think about creativity in terms of the arts. But there’s something you need to keep in mind: you’re creative because you’re made in the image of a creative God. Yes, we create art but we also build cities, solve problems, and innovate technology – all of which starts with our God-given creativity. God uniquely wired and wonderfully made you to make a difference in this world.
