Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
– Philippians 4:6
Last week we learnt rejoicing is the process of figuring out the implications of what you have in God, until the emotion of joy overwhelms your reality.
On one hand it’s not to have an artificial “chipperness” about your Christianity. On the other, it’s not to conjure up an artificial steadiness like “Marlboro Man”.
Instead we learnt from Paul in Philippians 4:6 to: Think it out | Thank it out | Dig it out.
He says to analyse and consider the reasons for your lack of peace, then trace it down to the ‘why’ underneath that lack of peace, and then present that to God in prayer.
That’s when he says we are “really” praying. How might you go about that this week?
