Last week we wrapped up a sermon series called Encountering God by considering Psalm 42 and the experience of spiritual dryness that we all go through at one point or another. Many of us know what it is to pray with the writer of this Psalm:
1 As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
If you are in a place of spiritual dryness at the moment, can I encourage you to pray these verses along with the Psalmist as you lean into community and remember that, as Sam said, the feeling of God’s absence is actually a sign of his presence.
