Thought of the Week

Do you know we are always making judgments! Judgments are decisions based on careful thought. St Vincent de Paul said, “Make it a practice to judge a person and things in the most favourable light, at all times and all circumstances.”

Is it possible to “always” see the best in people in all circumstances? Maybe not a 100% but we can certainly strive to cultivate this as a practice in our lives. The apostle Paul writes, “Whatever is true and right; pure and lovely; good and admirable; excellent and praiseworthy, let your mind dwell on these things.” (Philippians 4:8). The best gift we give to another is to esteem them well, to value and honor them. When we believe the best in people, then they will believe the best about themselves. Let’s be reminded this week to make it a daily practice to strive to see the best in others.
