At Northside Youth this term, we are talking about what does it mean to encounter God. We don’t just want our young people to know of God but to intimately know Him and be
in a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.
Last week we shared about the power and importance of prayer. At Northside Youth we call the act of praying, talking to God. We desire to see our young people communicate with their Heavenly Father throughout the week, not just when things are going bad. So last week as a group we learned about and experienced how to talk to God. It was so powerful watching our young people engage with God and actively pray for their friends, their family and school mates. I was blown away by how they engaged and encountered God, some of them for the first time.
We believe this year at Northside Youth God wants to firstly change our lives and secondly the lives of those around us. It is exciting to see a culture of prayer emerging in our youth group as our young people pray boldly and enthusiastically for those closest to them and those around the world they don’t know.
James 5:16b says “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
Will you join with us as a youth group, as we choose to pray the Lord’s Prayer (Luke 11:1-5) daily in the lead up to Easter? You won’t just be praying with us but other Christian brothers and sisters from the broader body of Christ around Australia.
