We are living in troubled times. There is so much uncertainty around the world.
Just in recent weeks we have seen terrible shootings in the United States, a coup in Turkey and the devastating carnage in Nice, France.
A friend of mine posted on Facebook:
“…I held an atlas in my lap, ran my fingers across the whole world and whispered, where does it hurt? It answered, everywhere, everywhere, everywhere…”
What can we do?
Obviously the world’s problems are far too big for us to handle individually, but we all can pray! We can pray together, a united front, that in the midst of darkness and turmoil of our hurting world, we can pray! Just as Sam Haddon, our Senior Minister prayed during the service last week and asked for a “big supernatural miracle” on the world’s stage, we can continue in prayer.
With perseverance, I encourage you to continue to pray for God’s intervention for our hurting world. Pray for world leaders to govern in such a way that they would have the best interest of the people at heart. Pray for healing and comfort especially for those who have been traumatised by such recent events. Pray for lives to be transformed and pray most of all for peace on earth and good will toward all people.
2 Thessalonians 5:17: “Pray at all times and in everything give thanks, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
