We are finding more and more people are wanting to explore what Christianity is all about.

An increased yearning for something bigger than everyday life, means some people are looking for a space, to ask some of the big questions without feeling they need to make big decisions about religion just yet.

Welcome to Alpha.

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that freely explore life, faith and meaning. Everyone is welcome and no question is off-limits. Each session includes food, a short talk and a discussion at the end where you can share your thoughts. There’s no pressure, no follow-up and no charge. If at any time you decide Alpha isn’t for you, that’s not a problem.

Divorce Care

It can feel as if nobody could possibly understand the pain of your divorce or separation.

We know that every person’s distress is different but if anyone can understand what you’re going through, it would be someone struggling through the same kind of experience.

That’s the reason for Divorce Care. We support you through a series of discussion groups and seminars conducted by people who understand what you are dealing with. We will help you to look forward to rebuilding your life.

At Divorce Care, we connect you with a small group of people who are either going through a separation or divorce or have been through one.

Together you take part in seminars and discussion groups, sharing your responses to the material and offering encouragement and consolation. Many participants say these support groups are the most helpful part of the programme.

Divorce Care is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences.

Divorce Care helps you to recover from the pain of separation and divorce.

The Marriage Course

Providing practical help for people who want to strengthen their marriage.

Marriages in Australia are under sever pressure and many are crumbling. The results of marital breakdown can be tragic – both on parents and children alike. Everyone seems concerned but the opportunities for help and support are sometimes severely lacking.

Northside Community Church is deeply concerned about this situation, so we regularly run the Marriage Course, with impressive results. Limited to ten couples, the Marriage Course is a seven week experience featuring the use of DVDs and private discussion between each participating couple, as they respond to the material being presented.

Many couples have been greatly assisted by this course over the years and we even have those who believe the program “saved” their marriage.

Search for Life

A course of self-discovery, guiding participants to a deeper understanding of why they think and act as they do.

Search for Life is a course for people seeking peace of mind, and an answer to the question, “What do I have to do to be loved, accepted and valued?” This course identifies the source of so many human tensions and introduces participants to the healing power of acceptance, value and belonging. Each session includes an audiovisual presentation followed by small group discussion.

That’s the reason for Divorce Care. We support you through a series of discussion groups and seminars conducted by people who understand what you are dealing with. We will help you to look forward to rebuilding your life.

Each week your GriefShare group will watch a video seminar featuring top experts on grief and recovery subjects. These videos are produced in an interesting television magazine format featuring expert interviews, real-life case studies, dramatic re-enactments and on-location videos.

Two – Support Group Discussion with Focus

Afterwards there is a facilitated discussion focusing on the salient issues dealt with in the video presentation.
