Restoring hope, renewing trust, rebuilding faith.
Northside is committed to serving our local, national and international communities.
We want to see people and communities develop in a sustainable way. We offer our help with teaching people new skills and understanding: help that can be translated into opportunity.
Sydney is our neighbourhood, our friends, our families, our schools, workplaces, our city. Sydney is home to over 4.5 million people and for many, life’s journey can be tough going.
Known as The Forgotten Island, Madagascar needs our help. We are partnered with Chosen Servant Ministries (CSM) in providing education and opportunities for the poor and disadvantaged people of this nation.
Hope Street assists people who are in need, many who are living with homelessness, addiction, mental health and legal issues, in addition to having diminished employment opportunities. Northside has an ongoing partnership with the Hope Street organisation and supports their work in a number of ways.
Every month we send a team of volunteers to Glebe to work alongside the community. We use this as an opportunity to assist with their op-shop, help through providing a community barbecue and getting our hands dirty by cleaning up gardens of those who are unable to do so.
A chance for us to support the older members of our community and share life together. We bring friendship and a positive connection to their world by visiting retirement and aged care facilities.
Pantry and Care Packs
A great way we can make a difference to families in our city who are doing it tough. We respond to those in crisis by letting them know others care. We’ve supported a number of organisations, particularly women’s shelters, with care packs over the years.
COCOA stands for Churches of Christ Overseas Aid and is an arm of our movement. We connect with COCOA throughout the year, helping with their Gift Catalogues among other forms of assistance.
Operation Christmas Child shows the power of a simple gift. It is a chance to bring hope and joy to children by filling shoeboxes with small items and it reminds us all of what Christmas is really about. Visit the Operation Christmas Child website to see how you can get involved.
