I loved the experience of community at Northside during Christmas. In particular, it was such a joy to host a number of guests from our local community as well as friends and family members of our Northside family. There was something delightful about seeing others experience the warm community God has blessed us with at Northside.
I’m excited about watching that continue to grow in 2017 as we each make and develop friendships with both existing Northsiders and those God will bring into our community this year.
Many people look around for a new church home at this time of year, so as we host those God sends into our midst on Sundays we all get to be the hands and feet of Jesus in offering them love, warmth, and hospitality – welcoming them as we would into our home.
Who could you strike up a conversation with after the service today, who you haven’t met before? Who could you invite for coffee, or over to your place for lunch or dinner? Who could you help integrate into community life? Who could you help to feel at home? You never know the difference you could make in someone’s life.
Through the love of God that is in us by his Spirit, let’s make 2017 a year of such warmth, hospitality and inclusiveness that people experience the heart of God himself through us.
