It seems like just yesterday that God was stirring something in me that he revealed was a call into ministry. I stepped forward clueless and amazed at how God could use what he entrusted in me to partner with families to fuel faith in the next generation.
Aside from the obvious radical height growth that children somehow magically gain, there have been numerous moments to reflect on how God has worked here. From a handful of children to rooms bursting at the seams, those unsure of their place turn to developing deep connections with others and confidence in self. Ultimately kids encountering how deep God’s love is for them then desperate to share with those around them. I find it remarkable how God drew exceptional faithful, gifted leaders to join our team sharing the joy of instilling powerful godly truths in the next generation.
Children have an innate sense of wonder, discovery and passion that is contagious and as a church family we have experienced that vibrancy. I thank you for the way you have contributed to this. You have truly embraced families and devoted yourselves to encourage them. May you continue to parent, grandparent and great-grandparent a spiritual legacy in the next generation of Northside’s children and families, and never underestimate the significance of your investment. The best way for a kid to know God is to know someone who knows God. What if kids could see that Jesus was the best thing that ever happened to us? What if we could help them see that it can happen to them too?
It has truly been an exceptional honour and privilege to humbly serve God, his church and families over the past seven years at Northside and I am so grateful to each one of you for your love, support and encouragement. Together we have seen God work in tremendous ways in the lives of individuals and in the depth of our church community.
In the same way God called me to Northside, He leads me from here. We will deeply miss our church family, precious friends and will carry many memories with us forever.
