This year Northside Youth will come together to support World Vision’s 40 Hour Famine in its 40th year. As a youth group we want to show our friends, families and schools what we stand for and that is fighting global hunger!
The 40 Hour Famine is one of Australia’s biggest youth events. This year it is expected that tens of thousands of young people from all over the country will participate. From 14 -16 August, each young person from Northside Youth who is participating will give up something important to them for 40 hours to raise awareness and much- needed funds to help fight global hunger. As a whole our youth group has chosen to give up food for 40 hours in support of this very worthy cause.
The UN has named hunger and malnutrition as the world’s number one health risk. Funds raised through the 40 Hour Famine will go to World Vision projects in Bangladesh, Cambodia, East Timor, Laos, Malawi, Nepal, Swaziland and Uganda.
Since the 40 hour famine was started our church has raised over $30,000.
Northside Youth hopes to raise over $1000 this year and we would love your support as our church family. We would love it if you could partner with us as a youth group as we seek to help make global hunger history! Whether you want to join us in participating in the famine or you would be happy to donate and help fight global hunger, your support for this worthy cause will be greatly appreciated.
To find out more, please come chat to any of our youth who would be happy to give you some more insight into the project. Alternatively, you can sign up to the Northside team or make a donation directly through the website: https://40hf2015.everydayhero.com/au/northside-youth.
